COPA AFRICA Y COPA ASIA DE CLUBES CAMPEONES

MAZEMBE (CONGO) CAMPEÓN AFRICANO Y VICE CAMPEÓN MUNDIAL DE CLUBES 2010
COPA AFRICA Y ASIA DE CLUBES

African Champions' Cup

Tournament for champions of the CAF nations. The away goals rule was introduced in the 1974 competition, and a Champions' League format in 1997. In 2004 the Champions League format will be changed so that the top-12 countries (namely, Algeria, Angola, Cameroon, DR Congo, Egypt, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa and Tunisia, according to a simple ranking system which CAF appears to have difficulties applying) can enter a second team.

Asian Champions' Cup

Tournament for Asian champions; there was a long interruption between the first four tournaments (the Asian Club Championship), dominated by the Israeli teams, and the current series.
From 2002/03 the tournament merged with the Asian Cup Winners' Cup into an Asian Champions' League.
From 2004 on, only the 14 'mature' member associations of AFC are entitled to register clubs for the Champions' League; the so-called 'developing' members are relegated to the newly created AFC Cup, and the remaining, 'emerging' countries, to the Presidents Cup.
